Latest Updates from Our Project:

Boats are slow, shipping is awful, and your last chance at playmat preorders.
about 2 years ago – Mon, Apr 11, 2022 at 04:18:59 PM

Another week, another example of how truly terrible shipping is at the moment. The shipments to international backers will take time to make their way across the globe and, even after they reach their destinations, the fulfillment warehouses will need time to complete their work. We're at one of the worst stages of the project for both those of you outside of the United States and our team: waiting. When we launched this campaign in 2019, we had no way to know how bad the freight situation was going to get.

How bad is it? A shipment that was supposed to land at our primary warehouse over a month ago might reach the warehouse by the end of this week. (And has been in the United States for weeks now.)

We stress might because anything can happen in today's world.

We will update as we receive news, but right now all we can say is: things are moving.

Playmat Preorders Close Tomorrow

Our Car Wars playmat preorder campaign closes in less than 24-hours and then we'll work with the printer to move the files into final printing. We've already held a test copy, so we know that this newest 24" x 24" playmat design looks great. If you want to add this new playmat to your collection, or grab some of the Car Wars Sixth Edition items you may have missed, this is last call before the preorder project comes to a close.

NOTE: Preorders are not open to international addresses. We will offer excess playmats at our online store, Warehouse 23, in the future.

New Car Wars Playmat Preorders, Plus Second Chance at Double Drum and Dashboard Playmats
about 2 years ago – Fri, Apr 01, 2022 at 10:19:49 PM

As the international Kickstarter rewards continue their journey across the planet, we're happy to report that the new 24" x 24" playmat is now open for US preorders at BackerKit. In addition to the new Car Wars playmat, existing Car Wars Sixth Edition titles are listed in the preorder store. Many of these will be on Warehouse 23 this month if you would rather wait and grab more dice, minis, or card packs separate from the playmat preorders.

The dashboard playmats are also available for preorder; we'll print more of those to fulfill preorders as well as some to take to conventions over the summer.

You can visit the preorder store here.

NOTE: Not open to international orders.

UK, Australia, ROW, Warehouse 23 Pre-Orders, and Car Wars Companion Updates
about 2 years ago – Wed, Mar 23, 2022 at 03:33:04 AM

Great news! The Warehouse 23 crew reports that the last of the Kickstarter rewards are exiting the warehouse this week and making their way to the next sites. Those of you in the "rest of world" camp will receive your shipments from Warehouse 23. If you're in the UK or Australia (and NZ), your packages first travel to our fulfillment partners and then make the final journey to your game tables. We do not yet have exact timelines for this stage, but we will post updates as we receive info on the shipments.

Warehouse 23 Pre-Orders Ship Next

Within the next few days, the team will start packing and shipping the Warehouse 23 pre-orders for Car Wars Sixth Edition. Once the pre-orders have shipped, then we'll be ready to open up the titles for sale at our online store, Warehouse 23, for those of you who missed a few items or may have found you could use extras of an expansion or two.

We will post an update here once we've confirmed that Car Wars Sixth Edition titles are available for sale at Warehouse 23.

Car Wars Companion

As scenario playtest continues, we can report that the terrain section of the book has left the editing process and moved into layout. We're not yet ready to announce a crowdfunding date for the book, but we expect to have more info at our FnordCon event in late April. And yes, we will absolutely run Car Wars Sixth Edition games at FnordCon. We hope some of you will join us for the show!

International Update and a Peek at a New Playmat
about 2 years ago – Tue, Mar 15, 2022 at 08:54:03 PM

Tomorrow, if all goes as scheduled, the EU pallets leave Warehouse 23 and start their journey across the world. As we may have mentioned a time or two, this will not be a fast process. What takes so long? Paperwork and properly following local requirements.

The UK pallets are packed . . . and we are dealing with paperwork.

Australia and the rest of the world are next, just as soon as we clear room in the warehouse and can receive more Car Wars Sixth Edition games.

A New Playmat

Now that we have shipped the Double Drum playmats, we're about to open preorders for a new 24" x 24" playmat that works for two-player games. And, if you wish, tile multiples to create a larger playscape. We'll make an announcement when preorders are ready.

Canada, EU, and UK Rewards Update
about 2 years ago – Fri, Feb 18, 2022 at 11:05:43 PM

News for those international backers who have been patiently (thank you!) waiting on your rewards:

  • Canada - The fulfillment warehouse expects to complete shipping packages within the next week. Some of you may have already seen your tracking info.
  • EU - Everything is packed and we're still dealing with the paperwork/freight arrangements to get the pallets from our warehouse to the EU. It will take several weeks for the pallets to cross the world.
  • UK - The Warehouse 23 team is packing rewards.

Once those shipments are done, the warehouse crew will begin work on Australia and the rest of the world.

FnordCon

Pre-registration is open for our Austin convention. We'll be running Car Wars Sixth Edition sessions (I've seen some of the terrain for one of the big battlescapes we're constructing for the convention) and hope some of you will join us for the event. We will definitely share photos and news from the convention, that way everyone has the latest info even if you cannot make it to Austin.

You can learn more about the show here.
