What is the Double Ace Box?
9 months ago – Sat, Jun 13, 2020 at 07:54:21 PM

Thanks to your support of Car Wars Sixth Edition, we unlocked several stretch goals that added completely new expansions and accessories to the line. So many of you selected the $139, $140, $145, $146, $300, and higher reward levels that we were able to create a package at the factory that combines several items into a single box. This will make our fulfillment easier and allow the team to ship more packages each day than if they had to pick every item separately.

Inside the Double Ace box you will find:

  • Car Wars Sixth Edition
  • Car Wars Miniatures Set 1
  • Car Wars Miniatures Set 3
  • Car Wars Dropped Weapons Pack
  • Car Wars Crew Pack
  • Car Wars Armory Pack
  • Car Wars Linked Weapons Pack
  • Car Was Dice Bag
  • Car Wars Road Tiles

If you selected one of the $139, $140, $145, $146, $300, or higher reward levels, your BackerKit survey includes both this box and Playmats 1 and 3.

If you did not select one of the $139, $140, $145, $146, $300, or higher reward levels, you may upgrade your pledge* to a higher level to get the Double Ace box. You can do this by clicking the "switch your pledge level" link underneath the big green "Get Started" button on the welcome page of your survey.

If you have any questions, please email help@sjgames.com for support.

* Please note that if you upgrade a $50 or $74 pledge, you will lose the bonus Uncle Al's Upgrade Pack.

Car Wars Miniatures Set 3 Pics
9 months ago – Sat, Jun 13, 2020 at 05:49:34 PM

As Gabby, Sam, Sabrina, and the rest of the team wrap up the final files and send them to the factory, we're ready to share more photos of the Car Wars miniatures that Ben has painted. As with all of the pics we have shown so far, these are prototype stage minis; we'll have pics of the test shots -- minis pulled from the finished steel tooling -- within the next month or so.

Below are the five minis that are included in Car Wars Miniatures Set 3. (The Avalanche and Jackal are two of my personal favorites.)

Any questions? Please email help@sjgames.com for support.

Miniatures Set 1 Pics and Fitting Playmats Together
9 months ago – Wed, Jun 10, 2020 at 09:52:58 PM

We've been asked about how the playmats fit together a few times now, so it's a good time to re-share this graphic that Ben created last year after he and Steve put a lot of time into editing the playmats. You can see the original update where we shared this image right here. To create a giant battlefield, like the ones shown below, add a few extra playmats to your rewards!

Miniatures Set 1 Pics

Below are photos of the five minis that are included in the Set 1 package. As with all of our previous pics of Car Wars Sixth Edition minis, these were painted by Ben Williams. The minis you will find in your rewards are unpainted; you'll have to supply your own paint, time, skill, talent, and experience to transform your gray plastic minis into painted masterpieces.

Blue/Green Starter/Core Miniatures Pics
9 months ago – Tue, Jun 09, 2020 at 11:49:56 PM

When Car Wars Sixth Edition goes into distribution in 2021, the four-player core game that many of you have selected as a part of your rewards will not be the game you see on store shelves. To keep the starting price as low as possible for distribution release, we have broken the four-player set into two different two-player games. Players can buy one or both of those two-player sets, all depending on how deep they want to go into the Car Wars Sixth Edition game.

Blue/Green Two-Player Starter Set.

The contents of these two-player sets are identical to those of the four-player core set that many of you have selected as a part of your Kickstarter rewards. At the factory, three different subassemblies are being created by the factory:

  • Blue and Green Player Pack
  • Red and Yellow Player Pack
  • Rules Box

The four-player Car Wars Sixth Edition core game is a large box that includes all three of those subassemblies (each one of which is packed inside its own e-flute B&W box).

The two-player Blue/Green set includes two of the subassemblies: the Blue and Green Player Pack and the Rules Box.

By creating subassemblies at the factory, we were able to meet requests that some of you made during the funding period -- specifically, the creation of an inexpensive version of the game as well as the option to buy multiples of some of the components -- without causing too many complications during the manufacturing and assembly of the game.

Today, we have photos of the six minis that are found in the Blue and Green Player Pack portion of the Car Wars Sixth Edition game. As with all of the painted minis we have shared so far, these were painted by Ben Williams and, as you can see, the minis look amazing.

Please Complete Your Surveys

Over 70% of you have already completed your surveys; thank you!  If you have not yet completed your survey, please take care of that ASAP. We're keeping the surveys open until late August, but completing your survey early is the best way to lock down your rewards and it helps us manage our production of the game and its many expansions and accessories.

If you have any questions or need assistance with your survey, please email help@sjgames.com for support.

Car Wars Miniatures Set 2 and Set 4 Photos
9 months ago – Tue, Jun 09, 2020 at 10:20:04 PM

A new wave of pics of painted minis, this time covering Car Wars Miniatures Set 2 and Car Wars Miniatures Set 4. Out of the box, all of the minis will be gray plastic and not painted like these. You'll have to apply your own skills to painting the miniatures.

Survey Note

We're still seeing some of you asking about finding your surveys. Please email help@sjgames.com for support. Kickstarter comments and messages are not the best way to reach out to the team. Emailing help@sjgames.com is a lot easier for everyone to manage.
