BackerKit Schedule
almost 4 years ago – Fri, May 15, 2020 at 12:34:11 PM

We've locked down our BackerKit pledge manager dates.

  • June 1, 2020 - Surveys open.
  • June 15, 2020 - Limits set on items.
  • August 31, 2020 - Surveys officially closed and locked.

Please remember that surveys that failing to complete your survey by the August 31 deadline will result in a refund and removal from the project. We have learned the hard way that we cannot leave incomplete surveys open forever.

If you have any questions about the project or how to complete your survey, please contact [email protected].

More Painted Minis!
about 4 years ago – Sat, Apr 18, 2020 at 05:38:43 AM

We hope everyone out there is safe and staying well. Our team has transitioned to work-from-home, and Car Wars continues to move forward. Sam, Randy, and Gabby have been checking the cards, boxes, and rules, and everything is closer to the final review stage. (With so many cards, and the fact everyone is working remotely, it's taking a little longer than usual to check, recheck, and double-check the cards.)

While they're on those components, Ben has been painting minis and sent new pics. Enjoy these snapshots of Ben's most recent paintwork!

BackerKit Survey Delayed Until May
about 4 years ago – Wed, Mar 18, 2020 at 02:40:48 AM

A quick update. We were moving forward with launching the BackerKit survey, and planning to make it live this week or next, and then the world changed on all of us.

For now, we will hold off on opening the surveys so that everyone can focus on life and their families and not have to worry about completing the survey for the Car Wars game. Our current plan is to open the survey around May 1; we'll set the exact date once the world has settled down a bit and all of us have more time to think and plan.

On our side, work continues on the game. The factory is making a few tweaks to the minis, Gabby and Sam are working away on the hundreds of cards, Brandon Moore is creating new artwork, and Ben is working on the boxes. We will try to post more info and images late this month/early in April.

BackerKit Update, New Painted Miniatures, and Two New Car Sculpts
about 4 years ago – Wed, Feb 19, 2020 at 01:04:53 AM

BackerKit Timing

The survey is still under construction. We want to take it slow and make sure this large, complicated project is properly loaded into BackerKit, so we will need more time to get this right. We will leave the survey open for a few months once it is ready.

New Painted Miniatures

Ben took two copies of the Spark miniature in ABS plastic and experimented with painting them in a faster, looser style that is closer to what most miniatures gamers would use when painting the cars to see what can be done when he isn't treating each one like a masterpiece.

Ben primered one of the cars and painted the other without primer (the car shown above has no primer) just to test the plastics. Ben reports that both approaches will work, but he says that the primer method is preferred.

New Sculpts

We have two new car sculpts to share today; we've almost got all of these minis wrapped up and ready for the factory! Here are two images that Sam put together to give you an idea of what the new cars look like.

Next Thursday (February 27th), the team is getting together again to go over all of the components/titles and check on progress. There has been a lot of work done since this Kickstarter campaign came to a close and, so far, we're still on schedule to deliver the rewards as originally estimated.
